Why Hong Kong Vortech so expensive!

That is incorrect! My friends own a few shops and buying from the Asian Distributor since it is officially available in Hong Kong. According to them, their wholesale price is much better than those online stores from the USA. With air freight and delivery and most important is the warranty from local shops that will give us support like upgrade and after sale service. I will think twice before I will buy it online without local warranty and support like upgrade or service. For the money that I saved over the wavebox, I am thinking of getting a second Vortech.

Maybe I know why vortach so expensive in asia.
My friend is manage a fish shop and he ask the vortech asia distributors about the wholesaler and dealer price.
He astonished, because the dealer price almost equal the most online shop(Marinedepot...etc.) sell price and that is not include freightage costs.
If the online shop have discount , the sell price wiil be lower the dealer price.
So, you know why it is so expensive in asia now.
Before the vortech provide the dealers lower price to sell lower price , I think I prefer use Tunze to vortech.
For what I know is the same with you.

The wholesaler price is almost the same with the selling price on Marinedepot.(Just around USD10-20 lower)

And I can say, the aftersale service is VERY VERY Poor in Hong Kong. Can Tim please concern about this? If you need the proof, please tell me, I can give them to you.

Why we need to pay more with No Aftercare Service?

The wholesale price in Hong Kong has not changed since the inception of the MP40w nearly one year ago. I know this because we are the ones that set that price. It is possible that stores are purchasing the pump through the improper channels which will result in differing prices and differing service levels. Recently, there have been shipments of pumps to Hong Kong from certain US wholesalers and not from EcoTech Marine which could explain the price fluctuations. We cannot control whether or not your local fish stores buy from our established network. I urge you to approach your local fish store and request that the product be purchased through the correct channel.

This thread has more misinformation than it does facts and I will not respond directly any longer. As I have said before, you are more than welcome to email me directly at sales@ecotechmarine.com if you would like to discuss this topic further.
