Why I got fish in the first place.......

I got my first little tank (see avatar) to entertain these little guys and got addicted. They will sit and watch the fish (and sometimes the fish watch them) for hours. We have four, they used to outnumber the fish.

Cute pictures!! None of my 3 cats notice my fish at all, but one cat is seriously interested anytime my serpent star creeps the front glass.

Kitten TV.... thats what I always called it.

from back in my fresh water days.

it works the same with small children... i have a couple that are very close friends, and they have a year and a half old daughter. she stares at the fish while we sit down and have a nice dinner. she's completely entertained the whole time. the only draw back is the million and a half fingerprints on my glass by the time they go home. :) Next time they're over, I'll try to snap some pics.

Kitten TV, I like that. Its really cool to see someone admire whaat you have worked so hard on (even if they are cats) :)

My nieces and nephews always ask if they can come see the fishies when I see them. When I first got the Blue Hippo he was pretty shy, but they all wanted to see "Dory". They were so determined him, all 5 (who are 9 months, 1.5 yrs, 2.5 yrs, 4 yrs and 5 yrs) were sitting on the floor in front of the tank not saying a word until he came out. :)
