Why is 6055 mounted like that?

Hey Roger,
I got a brand new 6055 today and the way you mount it is different than all of other Tunze. Normally, there are 2 magnets: one used outside and another inside with the mounting bracket. You stick them together and you are done. The new 6055 came with 3 pieces. One outside magnet, one mounting bracket without magnet and another extra magnet. In order to mount the pump, there are 4 blue plastic "foots" that connects the inside magnet to the bracket like this::

outside magnet -> glass -> inside manget -> blue plastic foot -> bracket -> pump

Not only this makes the pump stick out much longer, it's also not as secure because of the blue plastic "foots". I feel this extra stuff is waste more tank space for nothing. I checked the manual that came with the pump but there is no mention of this plastic foots. However, I can't find another way to mount the pump without using them. Questions:

1. Is this the new mounting method?
2. Can I go back to the old mounting method?
3. Am I using the mounting kits incorrectly?

Roger is not available this week see sticky at top of Tunze forum.
This is the new silence bracket to to help make the pump quieter. You can use the old style if you prefer.
I am sure Roger can supply you the old style if you contact him next week.

Noise has never been an issue with all my Tunze. Even with 6105 which runs significantly more GPH, it's pretty much totally silence. I would think the smaller 6055 would be similar. I definitely want to try the old style mounting method. I will wait until Roger comes back to see how I can exchange or get the old mounting kit.

Thx!

As Graeme said, it is just a new mount that eliminates vibration, the 6055 is very quiet already but we thought we could do even better so this is the new clamp and all pumps except 6015 will include this from now on and the old 6025.510 will be an optional extra purchase. I do have a good barely used 6025.510 on hand that I will send you for just the cost of shipping which should be $4.95 by Priority mail. The magnet is the same, you just have to remove the current clamp base from the magnet by gently prying it off.

I will take it Roger. I really don't like the new mount. Let me know how I should send you the money.
