Why is my starfish's leg white?

My red colored choc. chip starfish looked ok in morning. This evening one of his legs was turning white & stiff-plus he was not using it to cling to side of the tank. What could be wrong? I checked the nitrate level 2 days ago & all was fine.

He seems to eat fine. He always lays his legs out & catches food when the other fish eat.

Please help!:sad2:

Monkeyfish,

I lovethe deadpan delivery. "Your starfish is screwed."

I have a similar question though. I bought a brittle star yesterday and I didn't notice at the store but the tips of his legs are a light greenish color while the rest of his body is brown.

He's been running all around the tank so I'm assuming he's generally healthy.

Is there a way to feed him directly? or make sure he's finding food?

Simply put a piece of shrimp, etc on a feeding tongs and hold it near one of his arms. He will then latch on to it, and then roll it to his mouth to consume it
