Lighting kessils 360 and ATI sunpower

Tachy has some small necrotic sites but still has 95% of tissue although receded and hasn't been inflated in a month.

2 of 3 acan colonies not very happy and am struggling to figure out why.

Any suggestions or recommendations sincerely appreciated.

Have many corals and these are the only "unhappy" ones thus why I'm

Sounds like you have a pest of some sort.

Really think so? Never have had an issue before. These were happy as can be and nothing new has been introduced since they went "unhappy".
If indeed I do have a pest, what do I look for and how can I fix it?

Pics would be great. Also and chemicals added to tank lately, running carbon will help if theres somwthing in the water column thats irritating it.

Are they in a shaded or lower area?

They are in a lower area, the brain is on the sand bed. I will add pics when I get home.

Not running any carbon or chemicals besides Matrix

what's the last thing/fish you add before they were unhappy?

Haven't added any. That's why I'm baffled.

Our clowns hosted it for a while and would upset it.

But for the past 6 weeks they've chosen hairy mushrooms instead and have left it alone

Has your lighting changed at all in the last little bit? What are your tank dimensions?

I did add an ATI fixture 6x39 in top of my kessils.

Kessils previous ran at 70% and now 40%

The thing is things were good for 3 weeks and then this happened.

Just tested and;

Sal 1.025
Ca 420
Alk 9.3
Mag 1440

And the problem may also be that our nitrates and phosphates are undetectable?

Only running Matrix. That's all.

It's in a tlf reactor running off a manifold so I can shut it off. What do y'all think?

The ATI more than likely doubled your light output. It might take a few weeks for that to show.

I'd also try feeding a little heavier to bump nitrates up to 5 or so. I find too many shoot for 0 nitrates when they really need some to feed the corals. This usually leads to color loss IME however.

I've been wanting to raise nitrates to no avail. Will feed even more.

Tank is very deep at 41 inches

Our chalice is up high. Acan colony and brain are on the sand bed. No favia in tank.

No fish attaching acan from what we've observed. Still alive but still retraced. Sad. Acans are some of my favorites.

My only thoughts are:

1) Run some carbon passively in a mesh bag. Might be some type of chemical warfare going on. Just make sure to rinse it really well.

2) Have you tried moving them? I still think the addition of the Sunpower may have shocked them. How did you acclimate the tank?

3) Have you pulled them out and checked for pests? This might upset them further but what do you have to lose?

I have done iodine dips on LPS before and had them come back. Not sure if that's "recommended" but a LFS had me do it and it worked.

I'll have to try come carbon. Hopefully that'll help.

I've moved them several times over the last month to no avail.

All corals acclimated on bottom for 1-2weeks.

I'll research iodine dips thanks

Had the same issue. I changed where some of the feed pumps for my reactors were located and left out the carbon reactor while I ordered some more. Due to procrastination 2 weeks go by and my Acans Lord and Fl Ric started looking a bit unhappy and struggled to find a reason. Added the carbon reactor back and within a few days they were back to normal.
