Hello everyone. Got this green bta about a month ago. It was doing well, having found a latching place in between two rocks. For the last 2 weeks its been showing signs of distress. It started to retract and go further and further in the rock work. After trying to move it a few times i now have him in a very vegetative state where its losing its tentacles and bleaching from the bottom. He does eat table shrimp and the mouth seems okay. Tank parameters 78 deg F, SG 1.025-1.026, pH 7.9-8.0, calcium 410, nitrate 15. Its a 40 gallon tank with a sump and refugium. Lighting is t5ho( actinic and ATI coral+) im getting my kessil 360 shipped tomorrow. Whats wrong with it? Note my favorite octospawn is also losing color.

Nitrate seems a touch high. Also the anemone will roam for its favorite spot with light and flow so personally moving it could be the main reason for distress. They will deflate regularly to refresh the water in their bodies. They look like crap when they do this but are totally fine.

Ya it's definitely stressed out. Losing tentacles normal? Will they grow back?

If nitrates are kept in check with other parameters yes it could easily recover. To "breed" these guys can literally tear themselves in half and recover...boom two anemones.
