Why wont update work.

I get this all day long I left it on last night and it went for ever.

It appears that you are using a public IP address. Use the Apex's actual IP address... usually is 192.168.x.x

You're not trying to update via wireless, are you? If so, that's a no-no.

There is another way to upload if connections are at issue...

1) Verify the Apex is hard-connected as mentioned above, wireless Apex connection is a BIG no-no in this version.

2) Once you see the waiting to connect counting up, reboot the Apex (power down, pause, power up)

The uploader will detect the Apex running in this mode (boot loader) and should start the upload.

Its wired not wireless... Now I have another issue... My apex keeps changing its ip from 192.168.1.3 to a plublic ip 68.108.8*.*** it will not stop doing it now....

You can try to disable DHCP. Interesting that it is doing that however, is it possible the Apex has a direct connection to the internet and is getting address assignment from your ISP; sure sounds like it.

Ok I got it to stop changing it ip.... it just wont update no matter what i do. I may take it to friends house to update it. Unless we can get it to work.

if your computer has wireless connection shut that off too.

It sounds like your computer is getting confused which IP address to use public or private. I had some issue whe I try to update from laptop.

Hard wired I was getting private IP
Wireless I was getting public IP

I've been fighting the same error for over an hour. :hammer:

I followed the instructions from kenargo to power off the unit WHILE the update utility is running and BAM! The unit started uploading the 4.05 update a couple of seconds after the unit powered back up sttempt 14. <Talk about a buggy product>
