Why would an emerald crab die?

I had this emerald crab for about 2 months. What would make him die? Did he starve?

I don't know nothin' 'bout no emeral crabs . . . but I'm pretty sure that the more knowledgable people on this thread would like to hear more about your tank setup and parameters as well as history of you crab so that they can better attempt to answer your question.

It might have seen your face :-(... LOL jk I needed that giggle. Maybe the params or not enough food to eat.

Possibly it was sick when you purchased it? Also I believe iodine is important for critters that molt, if enough isnt present it inhibits molting. Are you sure its dead and your not just looking at a molt? If it did molt I guess it would probably hide for a couple days or so until its new shell hardens. Also what other critters are in there, anything that may have killed it?

Mine die after a few months as well, i dont know why. But this time i didnt replace them this time and the amount of macro algea and sponge growth thats taken place since then is amazing
