Why?

Why is it that as a paid member of the WTMRAC I cant sell a fish to another member? I understand the principle behind the rule on the reef central forums but this is a club subforum of which Im a paid member. To those it may concern, please reconsider the rule. If you pay to be a member you shouldnt be required to prove your intentions by posting 50 times and waiting 90 days. Please be reasonable. It was obvious from my post Im not a vendor but a club member trying to relocate two fish I cannot continue to keep. Can anyone explain why this would be a bad thing?

Reefcentral is kind enough to let us have a home forum here at which we the members and non members have to abide by Reefcentrals rules , basicly they want to be sure you are going to be a active member of reefcentral and not just here to sell livestock and drygoods, if you were giving the fish away it would be no problem

RC is not associated with WTMRAC.

They're separate entities.

You'll need 50 post + 90 days to sell.... (HERE!)

If you need anything, I'll broker it for you, sans my usual and customary 20% Fee of course....

(I'm kidding)

Alright, well although I dont agree with them at all, I suppose Ill shut my mouth. I guess Im mostly frustrated that it will now be more difficult to get rid of these fish. I live 2 hours from any SW retailer or good reef club. I've chosen to join and participate in the memphis club since I do make the 2 hour trip every now and then like I will be on Sunday. Obviously, this is my best opportunity to communicate with members and get them to someone who can enjoy them.

I understand your frustration swigen. at one time we had our own site/board place but we wound up ending it because it didn't get enough traffic. for the longest time i cruised the newbie forums offering advice as often as I took it.
on the upside, once your through the 50/90 thing your home free.
Marty brings up a good point. have one of us post the fish on your behalf and if RC doesn't approve they'll let us know.

Just as a thought here,
even though I do reialize that you live abt 2 hours away and no reef store available near you, How abt calling our local reef shops here talk to them and have them hold your fish that way they can find them a good home ..

I guess thats one idea. Im not sure how that would work and it just sounds like a hassle to me to involve a middle man just to sell two fish; if they would even go for it. Its not like I need these fish gone ASAP or they don't have a good home now. They just arent compatible with what I have in my 50 gal display so I don't get to enjoy them. I just want to make the most out of a trip to memphis. No worries, I think I got it all figured out anyway. Thanks for the help though.

Well good luck on those fish.Hope you find a home for them I might have missed the fish post but what kind of fish were they agian ..

i ditto your comments.
as i am a new member as well, my sales post goat removed as well.
i too do not live in memphis and have no LFS to trade my corals into except when I go to memphis or LR so i thought this board would be a good place to sell my extra corals.
