Can anyone help me determine what this is? I don't think it is manjo. Maybe it's a half eaten zoo but now it has grown to not look like that anymore.

Ideas?

My first thaught was majano anemone, but on closer inspection i think it may be a fungia..

With that being said I thought it would be important to note that the surrounding polyps are doing well and continuing to open on a daily basis

Surely looks to be a little plate coral. Pretty cool. It can be popped off as it grows a bit more. It will have a hard skeleton stalk underneath that can be broke and placed on the substrate where it might do better. Very cool

Or you can let it grow and detatch itself, then another one will grow from the same stalk...

I know this is an older post, but just to close the loop for everyone that is searching. I now have also determined that this is a plate coral, and since then i have moved him away from the frag of zoas.

I've seen quite a few come in on coral. It's one of the many pleasures of this hobby

Yea- the fact that it nearly never existed, and then starting to grow randomly was pretty interesting! Hasn't really grown too much though.... more of the skeleton base. I am thinking about relocating it today... Ill show pictures of where he is at/grown later.

yep, stony corals can take a while to create their skeleton. Just ensure your numbers are in line, and give it time.
