Wierd stuff on new Pink Lemonade Frag...

I just got this Pink Lemonade frag from a fellow reefer and it has this weird stuff on it.

Can anyone explain what this might be? I did a Bayer dip, but after putting it in my tank I noticed this stuff on the frag... So I popped it back out and have it separated from my tank now. But hopefully I didn't just introduce something wicked...

Am I just paranoid, or is this something bad. Is this just some slime from stress or something worse?

Mesenterial filaments? It's hard to judge from your photos. If it is mesenterial filaments thats one upset coral.

I don't think you're paranoid. It looks almost like something I've seen before but couldn't ID. The area that was covering the acro would be dead underneath. is it slowly spreading? Can you remove or scratch off some of it to see underneath?

looks like a stressed acro and has the guts out, if it hasnt started peeling I wouldnt remove any and let it be, was it colored up when you got it? It could be just rapid new growth because it likes your tank better? FTS?

The color hasn't changed since I got the frag. It's loose and I could probably brush it off. Is the consensus that it's not a pest? If there is even the slightest possibility it could be a pest, I'd toss it.

But if it's just an upset coral that isn't feeling well or is stressed out, I'd be ok putting it back in my tank and seeing if it will recover.

Thoughts?

I wouldn't rule out a pest. If you are going to toss it should at least check and brush it off In a container to see if it is indeed killing the tissues underneath.

Almost looks like the tissue got burned from the bayer dip. Did you pre mix it with tank water before dipping the frag.

Yes. I premixed and dipped two other Milles at the same time. It's the same recipe I've used for all my corals for the past couple years. If this is a reaction to the Bayer, it's the first I've seen.
