Look up bristle worm and see if that is it.

If so I leave them they are a good part of the CUC, while some folks get freaked out and remove them. If you remove it do not do so by bare hands. The bristles will stick in your fingers.

I Googled Bristle Worm. Wifey and I are in agreement that it appears to be the same thing we're staring at, though what we are staring at is exceptionally smaller and less developed then what we're seeing in Google.

A bristleworm, definitely, one of the inhabitants that keeps the holes and crevices of your rock clean. Wear latex gloves when working in the tank, because the spines can break off in your fingers if you touch one of these fellows, and you can get increasingly sensitive to them.

They can vary greatly in size and there are other worms similar, fireworms being one, so I don't touch them.
I have caught a number of them up to 2 feet long myself, and bigger have been reported.
I don't mind the small ones but the big ones are ugly, I trap them and pull them.

I've had them about 12 inches remaining good citizens, only more efficient. They have no jaws, can't hurt anything: they slurp slime for a living.

It says bristle worm but that is a Eunice

Definitely. Eunicids grow very large and can harm fish. Bristleworms don't do either.

My LFS just pulled a 6ft worm out of their 800g tank. It was disgustingly huge.

Apparently the only reason they stop growing is because something kills them, but if giving the opportunity, it could become a graboid (tremors)

This is so true! A sting to my fingers leaves them swollen, red, painful and stiff for days. Miserable. Wearing gloves is good advice.
