Ok thanks Ush, when I was in De-Jong they had a few large acropora for sale, very nice piece.
I agree with Darryl it's not an echinata, as he has already said the formation does not match echinata. It is very very sexy though, as nice or nicer than an echinata imho.
thanks everyone, my first thought was echinata, i have two aussie echinatas and they do look almost identical apart from this has hairy polyps, and never seen a tabling form, it does resemble lokani in growth form, although i haven't seen with such thin branches, also Jacquelineae is the most likely but both of these corals aren't listed as growing in aussie waters.
anyway whatever it is i'm happy with it, it measures over 12" across
Leading edges don't look like jacquelineae, more rounded here and you see those nodules, which made me go with multiacuta. I have a piece with similar growth form
