Wild parrot fish.

Was it burrowing? I don't think parrots do that.

Whatever it is, it's not going to do well trying to burrow in that substrate.

Doesn't look much like a parrot to me, definitely not one available in the hobby. You should change the substrate to something finer if the wrasse like fish buries itself at night

I believe this is a Bluelip Parrotfish, Cryptotomus roseus. Their range extends into the eastern Gulf of Mexico, they bury themselves in sand, and are found in nearshore sand and seagrass habitats. It is hard to find good pictures of them online but google images has some if you look up "Bluelip Parrotfish". Fishbase says they get about 4" long max and eat seagrass. Based on all this I think this is potentially a good aquarium fish but you should get it a bit larger tank.

It looks like a wrasse blenny (Hemiemblemaria simulus) to me, but I never saw one with this color. Any chance you can donate it for scientific study? :)

Haha well I guess I don't know what it is. And sorry about the tank... I don't know what it eats so I keep the algae in there and it's doing really well. I think I'm going to try selling it. I have no where to really put and and I'm not taking a chance by putting it in my reef tank.. And I haven't been on reef central for a while so I'm happy to be back.

If you donate it to Luis you'll know
