Ok so I'm starting my first SW setup finally. Thanks to AC-Web I have a 46g Bowfront which will become home to some seahorses.
I picked up some LR from Dennis here in shorewood and am cycling the tank now.
Equipment right now is a small HOB 10g filter, a 200W heater set to 82, a 920gph powerhead set in the back right corner aimed the the front top right corner. Hopefully I will have good flow on the right side of the tank and dead spots on the left side.
I am planning on plenty of macro on the left as hitching posts and to help keep nitrates down, 36" T5 lighting, a HOB fluidized bed filter, and tomorrow I will be swapping the HOB filter for a Rena XP1 Canister filter.
Stocking will be 2 male and 2 female H. Erectus horses, 2 male and 2 female pipe fish (haven't picked a species yet) , and 1 green mandarin. Still researching snails, crabs, soft corals etc that will be seahorse safe.
All the horses, pipes, and the mandarin are captive bred and all eat frozen mysis.
That's where I'm at so far. I'll post pics once the canister is up and the water clears up more.
