will 3 be a crowd with clowns?

I got a surprise fish with my last order I made online. I received a small ocellaris clown that I am not quite sure what to do with. I have 2 46 gallon bowfront tanks, each already have a established pair of clowns. In one tank I have regular ocellaris and I have a pair of black Aussie clowns in the other. Both of my current pairs have been together atleast 2 years. I also have a 135g but I planned on adding a pair of true percs or blue stripes in there.

My question is this... will it be safe to add him to either of the established pairs at this point or will they just kill him. Can you safely mix the orange and black ocellaris clowns? I have even considered moving the established pair into the quarantine tank with him that way I could then reintroduce them all to the main tank at the same time but don't know if this would help. Or would i be ok to add all three of the orange false percs to the 135 as a last resort?

appreciate your help everyone.

Well you may be able to add it but there would likely be alot of fighting. And it'll always be the odd man out. You can mix black and orange no problem. I'd sell it.

I had a feeling it would be like that. He is so healthy and I just want him to be a happy little fella so I guess taking him to LFS is a last resort then.

you said it is ok to mix the black and the orange. do you think I would be safe to put both pairs in the 135

other fish
blue tang (yellow belly)
yellow tang
2 blackbar chromis
want some anthias later.

One will become female one male and the other will be a perpetual juvinile. Everyone's situation is different. What works for me may or may not work with your clowns. They are individuals with personality.

thanks everyone. Too soon for a upgrade but dont i wish :)

I think I will just setup the 29 gallon in am using for quarantine for him and maybe get him a friend. Nothing like justification for another tank
