I thinking about setting up a quarantine tank. I was wondering if a 10 gallon would work. right now I want it for a watchman goby, that I think has ich. but would also like to use it for a tang in the future.

I have a 10g qt, but I don't plan on qt'ing anything big like that. I suppose if the tang is really small when you first buy it it will be ok as long as there's hiding spots big enough. You want to make sure the qt is matured just like your display tank though. I set mine up when I set my dt up

yeah the tang is pretty small. my display tanks been set up for a while now. I was planing on using some water from there, when I do a water change

I've always quoted that your QT should be 1/4 to 1/3 the size of your DT, based on the fish involved.

I realize it sounds ridiculous to have a 40g QT for a 150g tank, but then think of the size of some of the fish you're going to put in there, and their swimming and eating habits.
