Will a Colt Coral Sting Halimeda?

I have a large (for my tank, anyway :twitch: ) colt coral (Klyxum sp.) that stings any other coral that's too close. This leaves me with some bare rock adjacent to the colt that I'd really like to make use of. I'm thinking of anchoring some halimeda algae there, on the assumptions that a) the green algae would contrast nicely with the pink colt and b) the halimeda, being an alga, wouldn't be hurt by the colt.

Am I right? I hope so! :bounce1:

Thanks!

I don't have any experience with the colt coral but I do have some Halimeda next to a branching hammer that constantly comes into contact with it. Never had a problem and both are doing great.

Now, in all honesty, I cannot say that this coral IS a klyxum. I have had it or 8+years and got it from Sanjay. He has tried getting it identified and klyxum sp. is what ppl seem to settle on. But as you see, zoas grow right up and around it.
