Does anyone think that a Coral banded shrimp will fight with a Scarlett cleaner shrimp in a 55 gallon?

That's a pretty simple answer...thanks lol. I have seen larger tanks with both in them, but I didn't know if they would stay peaceful in a 55. Thanks.

i had a coral banded & 2 peppermints in my 12 nano & everybody seemed to get along....as long as they stayed off his upper cave overhang

Shrimp kill other shrimp!

And all pit-bulls will kill your children.

Simply not true in all cases.

I kept a CBS and blood shrimp together in a 29 gallon tank for three years. They ignored each other.

mine killed a cleaner shrimp when i had them both in a 20 gallon....but when i got a 90...it hasnt touched any other shrimps that ive added...ive got a CB, a blood shrimp, and about 5 peps and they all get along great *** knocks on wood***

Coral banded shrimp are kind of like dwarf angel fish... they may pick at things, and they may not. You just never know unless you're willing to take a risk... Sometimes they tolerate, sometimes they do not. :)

I have a coral banded that was one of the first aquisitons to my 55 18 months ago. We really enjoy him But he is bad to the bone.

So far we have confirmed killson the following.(but he does eat what he kills)

1 yellow clown goby
12 peppermint shrimp
and every scarlet/red leg crab in the aquarium.

I have not witnessed him eat a Blue Leg. But I keep adding blue legs to the tank and they do not seem to get very big.
He loves the larger red legged hermits and will tear them from there shell piece by piece and pull them out of the shell and eat them.

If I put a new peppermint shrimp in there the longest one has lasted has been maybe three days. He is a very effective stalker.

But I am sure that he is just the exception!!!!!!!!

I had mine in the 90 and coral banded killed the cleaner and all my large green chromis and some other fish too.....never seen him kill hermits or snails thou....

My own coral banded shrimp coexisted peacefully with my scarlet cleaner in a 125 gal., but I've heard that individuals may differ.

yeah, must be hit and miss, my coral banded has molted quite a few times and grown significantly in the last 8 months, and I just put in some peppermint shrimp about a month ago from the tank I tore down. They are all fine in there.

My CBS is hilarious though, he hangs upside down from a rock ledge all day, and when fish swim by he reaches his claws out real wide toward them.

is that cleaning behavior? or is he wanting a snack? mine does it too and i've always wondered

You know, I honestly don't know what it is! Only one time have I witnessed a move that I honestly thought he was going to clean a fish, but the fish wanted nothing of it. I would guess it's a defense thing, because he does the same thing if my hand comes near him, even on the other side of the glass.
