Will a Flame Hawk be a friendly addition?

I have a Linear Blenny, PJ, and an Ocellaris Clown. Will a Flame Hawk work or will he have probs with the blenny? BTW, my blenny eats live brine shrimp...Is that normal?

Hawks are excellent addition to any reef tank, but if some time in the future you thinking

about adding some ornamental shrimps hawk sooner or latter will eat it. I lost two of my

cleaner shrimps this way. Howks mouth doesn’t look big but they have big appetite.

If a friendly tank is your goal, I'd pass on any hawkfish. Will also limit any future additions you might one day consider.

Hawfish spend much of their time perched and watching. But what they are also doing is waiting for something to pass by that will fit in their mouth.

So far my flame has shown little interest in his edible tank mates.
These include cleaner shrimp, a harlequin shrimp and a real tiny goldie (anthias) I recently caught.

If you like the fish get it, but remember, as stated above, they do eat shrimp.
I lost a few peppermint shrimp to a flame hawk.

I had one problem with my Flame myself. My very territorial Ocellaris clown hated it at first sight. Seemed to think it was a juvi Tomato clown trying to horn in on her "Anemones" ('Shrooms. LOL). WWIII was the result, but the Hawk finally outfoxed the clown.
Sadly, my Flame bit it with most of the reef nearly a year ago this very week. RIP little guy, you were great fish!

Great addition. Mine lives with a pair of percs, lawn mower blenny, claudia wrasse and yellow tail damsel. the FH and the LMB chased each other for a couple weeks now they occasionally perch together. He is always out and always watching. Favorite fish.

Had a Flame Hawk years ago - awsome fish and got along with the tankmates I had at the time. Like others have said, shrimp may not last long though!
