will a leather fight a gorg?

i just picked up a pretty nice tall what they called a "corky finger gorgonian" the only place i could put it in my tank that would look nicely balanced is within striking range of my devils hand leather...i am just wondering if when the leather opens up is it going to try and battle with the gorg or vise versa?

if a battle does ensue, who will be the victor? not that i want either to lose, i just want to keep my eyes out for battle marks...

currently they are both closed up and looking a touch po'ed...

Leathers generally will do battle via chemical warfare.
They don't have sweeper tentacles or stinging cells.

i have not seen any signs of chemical warefare in my tank...perhaps i just cant see them...but no corals seem any worse for wear...i am more worried about contact warfare...i run a massive bag of carbon to combat chemical problems that may exist..

There should be none.
Carbon would clean it up.

I thought of another way some leathers will gain a edge over other corals and that would be just a physical presence. Just physicaly getting bigger and crowding out other corals. Blocking the light.

I have a 3 foot leather right next to a 2 foot corky gorgonian. When the gorgonian touches the leather, the polyps won't come out in that spot, but I have not noticed any damage from these contacts that usually last only a day or so before current or leather position changes. I do frag the gorgonian from time to time on that side so it doesn't cause long term irritation to what I consider the largest coral in the Midwest.
