Will a male clown turn female if he's been in the sump ?

Hello Guys,

Here is my problem. I had to move a small imature false perc down to the sump since he was getting attacked pretty badly by the female false perc in the display tank. He's been happy down there hosting in a RBTA i keep in the sump. I know a female clown will keep other clowns from going female by a chemical/ hormone she releases but, Do you think the male will go female in the sump ? I run carbon and purigen so I'm worried he will go female
