Will a mantis shrimp eat pods??

I am making 20 gallon fuge for pods......can i keep a mantis (G Smithii) in there or will it eat my pods??

Probably depends on the mantis. If the mantis you find is a little guy, say only an inch long, then a 1/4" pod is going to look tasty. To a bigger mantis though it probably wouldn't be worth the effort unless very hungry.

..i need some advice..because most people tell me that a mantis would kill my pod population....(i want a Smithii)
