will be ordering some marshal island or tonga rock in the next month i was gona order the cured stuff how long should i cure it before i put it in my new tank im seting up that will already have live stock.

Hi Jeff,

The Kaelini comes in with the most amount of dieoff on it, the most sponges, etc. This typically takes about 3-5 weeks to cure in a small system, we can usually get it cured in about 3 weeks in our larger system.

The Marshall comes in much more clean, and with great color/shapes. It does not have as much life on it as the Kaelini does, however the shapes more than make up for that. YOu should be able to cured Marshall out completely in about 2-3 weeks.

Looking to buy about 50lbs from you guys. How would mixing 1/2 Marshall & 1/2 Fiji look? Am I better off going with one or the other or even using another type to mix with the Marshall?

Hi,

We get quite a few customers who like to mix the rock. It is really just a matter of personal preference. You do get a little more variety of shapes this way, and definitely get a more varied amount of life.
