Will Camel Shrimp eat Aiptasia?

Just to clarify, couldn't the same thing be said with anything other than berghia nudibranchs?

Peppermint shrimp are not totally reef safe. I've had them go after certain corals once the aiptasia are gone.

Filefish definitely work, and are rather slow so easier to catch than other fish, but they will also take a liking to your corals unless you get lucky.

Some filefish do eat aiptasia, some do not.

It is fuge, however if I were to buy a fish he won't live in my fuge forever, that would just be mean. He'll need to go into the DT at some point.

I think there are two different types of peppermint shrimp, one that eats and the other that doesn't. you should be able to google this.

I have 3 and they eat all the aptasia in the tank.

Exactly. When I purchased them for the DT it was prior to having my two (now three) wrasses. I waited until all of the aiptasia was gone in the DT before adding the wrasses.
This would be for my fuge (exclusively) this time though where there are no predators, thankfully. The only thing currently down there are bristleworms and a few hermits for "cleaning up".

I may try the peppermint shrimp again as (and as someone mentioned) I have heard that they'll go after aiptasia if they literally have nothing else to eat... I've also heard that they only go after aiptasia when it's small so that may be why I haven't had luck?

Sorry I meant the matted filefish. The three I've tried over the years have all eaten aiptasia.

These filefish are a nice way to support captive breeding http://www.orafarm.com/product/aiptasia-eating-filefish/ liveaquaria has them for sale.
Once the sump is clear they can live in the DT, but may nip coral. If you are a member of a local club, you could also pass the fish off to somebody else with an aiptasia problem once your tank is clean.
