will clows move from candycane to an anemone?

I received 2 osce. clowns and a candycane coral from a neighbor that was moving. They sleep in the candycane and think its there nem. Is it possible if I get the right nem and move the candy to the sump for awhile, will they nem host the clowns? How long might this take if possible?

Thanks.

I don't know your level of experience in reefkeeping but if you are new I would consider honing your skills a bit before considering keeping any anemone.
When you feel you're ready, a captive cloned E. quadricolor is a great place to start. As far as your ocellaris clowns being hosted by it, that can take a long time (if they ever host it.) There are however ways of encouraging them to do so if you decide to go that route.

I would start by adding the nem to the tank of course this is if your tank is "nem ready"... And take from there, I had my clown without a nem for about 2 years and then added an LTA and after 2 weeks it started hosting... I've heard sometimes clowns wont even host the nem...

Just give it a shot, if you like nems and would like to have one, just hope for the best and your clowns might host it!

good Luck

I have had a 37 gallon reef tank for 2years and have my 90 up for 5 months. I have a coral brain, candy cane coral, also a green branchy sps coral, zoos. In my other tank I have had a condy, but it grew too big and had to get rid of it.

5 months is getting there. They seem to do best in an established tank. Do you have stable param's?

One reefer told me to be sure that my tank was at least 6 months old, and that I had a lot of coraline growing as it would be a good indicator of stability. So I waited for that before I got my RBTA.
