Will Copper hurt my Eel?

I have a 240 gallon FOWLR and am ready to dose copper and stop battling parasites! My only fear is that I have heard that it can kill fish that do not have scales such as eels and puffers. Is this true?

Some copper is better then others not as harsh on scale less fish.
what kind are you thinking about using?

Be aware that copper is lethal to all your critters like pods and you will most likly not be able to house inverts in the tank again.

240 is a large tank and I am sure you want lots of diversity, but copper can leach into a lot of stuff like your silicone.. I would think twice before doing it.

Are you thinking you have ich?

I have run ins with ich and other parasites all the time. I cut my rock work in half and am going to toss the tank for a new one in the near future so I am not concerned with the tank itself or any of the equipment. I just need to know if My 3 foot golden tessalata eel will die if I use copper. Is there one that you reccomend for eels and puffers?

Usually about 6 weeks. I appreciate the help but the only thing stopping me at this point is the health of my eel. Any suggestions as to whether or not the eel can handle copper or what brand and treatment of copper is best? Thanks for the help so far as well :)
