will i get less polyp extension if my lights can give the sps all the energy they need?

all my corals r fine, showing color, and growth.. but i do notice that on some corals, they have awesome PE and are really furry when i first get them, and after awhile, they only show little PE..

i have 2 400w 14k hamilton pendants over a 120g 60x18x24..

Hey thanks. Does it have a blue tint to it or is it more like the ushio 10 K with a green/yellow tint now that it has been burned in bit.

No, in my experience light intensity has no effect on PE (not talking about night and day). Most of my acros are pretty shaggy and I have a pair of 400 watt Iwasakis (6.5K) over my 4 foot 120. I noticed much more PE after setting up the wavebox.

I noticed something recently. I have 2 Tunze's in my standard 90 gallon tank. One of them went on the fritz and when I came home polyps on MOST of the corals were extended much more than normal.

I don't know but it sortof makes sense to me. With 2 6100's in my 90 thats quite a bit of flow. It might be tough on the corals to have their polyps extended and thrashed around pretty good. Thats why I think it might be associated with flow?

Thanks,
Chris
