Will I regret this

The only issue you may end up with is settling. With the sand settling under the crushed coral.

You'll have quite a bit of detritus built up in the crushed coral which can raise nitrates and lead to nuisance algae. Invest in a sand syphon and agitate your sandbed every few months.

Issue I've had with crushed coral is over time it turns greyish green wiht algae and endoliths. If you want to keep it white periodicly siphon off the top layer, rinse in fresh water, soak in H2O2 for a day or so, rinse again in fresh water, I let it dry then return to your tank.

Since it has only been 1 1/2 weeks since I set the tank up. What do you think about just adding a couple of inches of sand on top?

Doesn't crushed coral buffer the pH? Not sure if that will be an issue or helpful, also not sure if that's really a thing :)
