Will it fit? Tunze DOC 9012 in IM SR60

So as the title states I've been agonizing over this for some time. According to BRS, a very trusted source, this skimmer does not fit.

However based on my own measurements and the manufacturer's specifications it does.

Normally I would not doubt BRS, but the performance difference between the 9004 and the 9012 is pretty large.

My concern is that it may in fact fit in the rear chamber (albeit facing the overflow/filter sock chamber rather than the front of the tank,) but it will constrict water flow too much in the rear filtration area....I miss having a sump already.

Any insight, especially someone that is successfully using the skimmer or someone who has failed would be very very appreciated! Thank you!

Yes, it does. I have one in the back of my SR-80. But instead of the magnets being on the back glass, they will have to be on the baffles in the sump area. They are strong enough that they will hold

Thank you! Going to look at the dimensions on the SR80 compared to the SR60. Do you think the added length of the SR80 matters?

Taking a look at the product manuals, proportionately it appears that the skimmer chamber is the same size. Interesting. I may let this post go another day or two and then place my order.

Keep us posted! I would definitely be interested to upgrade my aquamaxx hob-1 on my SR-60.

Anyone have any kind of an update? I tried to go to a LFS which I knew had the tank, but they did not have the skimmer.

Hey any update on this? Which skimmer did you pick 9004 or 9012 ? Does 9012 fit ok in back chambers? Also i heard that 9012 has a microbubble issue.. any info on that? Thanx .
