will it pair?

I've had a false perc hosting in a carpet nem for almost 2 yrs now (had the fish for over 4 yrs). Do you guys think I could add another at this point and do you think they might pair up?

I know it's a crap shoot. Just looking for opinions.

I don't see why it wouldn't...at the very least you can probably be really confident you've got a female.

Hey Zoom I to had a Maroon for two years and just recently put a small Maroon in there and they are now paired off. GO FOR It!!!

i would add a juvenile because it will be submissive and you know it's not female

It is hit and miss, I added one to one of my tanks and they were sleeping together that night, another pair is still discussing the details a year later after a three week protected courtship.

I got a clear hard plastic q-tip container and drilled some holes. Put it near the established fish with the new comer inside. First case the fish didn't care so I released it, second case I was hoping the plastic was strong enough. After three weeks the fish grew accustomed to the intruder. With an established fish I think the smaller the better, less of a threat. Also, the more likely it is sexually immature or neutral.
