Will it survive?

I have a medium size true carpet that had a home on the bottom off the uderside of a rock. It moved on me last night and went up the side of the glass and got upside my heater. The heater obviously went on in the middle of the night and the carpet definitely got burnt. I moved the heater off of it and the one side obviously was damaged. The column seems ok but the tentacles did get damaged. Will this carpet survive such a burn by anyone experience here? I'm sure it's happened to others here..

It all depends on how healthy your carpet was in the first place. Since it was on the move, my guess is that it probably wasn't very happy. If it were a BTA or a H. magnifica your chances would be pretty good, but with a carpet its about 40% that it will recover.

FTW, there are at least 5 types of "carpet" anemone that I know about. They are all truly carpet anemones (genus Stichodactyla). 3 naturally host clownfish (S. gigantea, S. haddoni and S. mertensii). The other two are S. helianthus and S. tapetum. The two non-hosting species are more likely to recover than the hosting varieties.
