Will our Sour Apple Birdsnest recover?

While acclimating our new birdsnest, it was sitting on the sand and apparently one of the tips was buried in the sand. It is white, with no polyp extension. Will it recover? Is there anything I can do?

Give it time, it will recover if all parameters are good.

The tip is probably dead. I'd cut it off, back to where there is still flesh. Tip will heal over and start growing a new branch.

I second it being dead and cutting it off.

birdnest do not encrust like other sps and therefor will not grow back over the dead part. cut it off or algae will gorw on it.

Bump to above - cut it and it will grow back over time

Post , if it was a encrusting coral it would encrust over and 'restart' but birdnest dowsnt do that thus it will get green with algea abd the stop that arm from growing it's always safer to cut the dead off -
