Will Silica Sand Bond Copper

I like substrate and hiding places for my fish while in QT - I have had better luck with hypo with sand and rock than copper in a bare tank, so I think that I might do both. I am thinking that I might hypo with sand/rock and then copper with silica sand and PVC pipes.

Will the silica bond copper like aragonite does?

bump any one have a good source of info on this? I have been using cuprimine right along with both my qt tanks. One has aragonite and one with silica sand.

I like wrasses and they are my frequented residents that is why I use sand in my qt.
