will SPS survive under RSM250 stock lighting?

I just got a RSM250 and would like to put some sps in it.
just wondering if the lighting system is enough? it says 4w/gal
besides, what power head would u guys reccommand?

ive got 5 frags in my rsm 250, and all are keeping good colour and look really healthy, i have plenty of rock work thou so mine are placed right at the top along with a blue tridacna clam, i also brough 2 hydor koralia 1600 for some extra flow. i would say to keep any sps that you buy mid, or towards the top of the tank.

that's what i think i will do to put spa at the top of the tank..
do you think if one mp40 will do the job?
what other modification you have on your rsm250?

Watts per gallon does nothing for an sps tank They need the a bunch of t5, MH or LEDs. Most of the time if you don't have those they may stay alive but they will brown out or die. What kind of reflectors are on those t5 they come with?

i am eventually going to add 2 tmc aquaray led strip white and blue the length of the underside of the hood nearer the sump so they are directly above my sps, i think that 1 additional mp40 would go perfect and provide plenty of strong flow,, which is something i am looking into adding just need to wait to save some cash!!!!! let me know how you get on!!

My LFS has one on display and it is all grown out from frags. They use Giesmann bulbs in it. So after seeing their display, I would say yes. They do have 2 mp40's in it too.
