Will this sump/fuge design work?

I have a 90gal tank with a 20gal sump and I'm working on how to set up the sump (no baffolds) I've been reading up and found a design from Anthony Calfo's book "Reef Invertebrates"...the only problem is, my tank/sump isn't drilled. Any input would be much appreciated, thanks PS Suck with photobucket and can't resize it so I hope you got your glasses :eek2:

You need to make a chamber so some of the air bubbles disapate. You are going to have a lot of air bubbles with that design.

I'm assuming the bubbles will pop as they fall down from the different levels...if not I could add something at the end that would help with them.

Put a couple baffles in the return chamber.
