Will this work OK?

I had an outbreak of hair algea on my LR. I removed it from the tank, and let it sit in a milk crate, outside, for about 2 weeks now.
I pulled the pieces out and scrubbed them up. I see no signs of algea, but the rock looks bleached, kind of white. If I introduce this to my tank, will it cause any levels to change?
Just looking for a little help here.

probally will cause your tank to cycle, you will need to re cure it to ensure all the dead stuff has decayed off. do a search for cureing live rock and you should find tons of info. Basically involves putting the rock in a tank with circulating water and doing water changes weekly till all levels balance to zero, same as cycleing a new tank.
