Will this work to acclimate my clam well?...

First off I am running 2x 250W MH w/2x 110W T12 Actinic VHO bulbs. This is a 72G bow front w/ about a foot vertical worth of live rock.

Parameters are:
Nitrite- 0
Nitrate- 0 (less then able to be measured)
SG- 1.025
Calcium- 390
Ammonia- 0
Temp- lowest 79*, highest (mid day) 84*

Lighting was just moved lowed to about 8 inches or so off the water line from the bulbs.

I bought a T.Crocea clam as part of a group buy- couldn't pass up the price. I was going to drip acclimate the clam for about an hour. Then place the clam on a flatter piece of live rock as close to the top as possible. Then using 3 layer if egg crate stack them at the water line- criss crossed to limit the amount of light that goes though. Then over the process of a set amount of days remove one of the crates until all are removed and the clam has been acclimated to the lighting.

Does this sound like a good process to acclimate? I do not have a QT tank setup with didicated lighting- have one with no lighting for fish, but not for corals w/light. How long should it take for the clam to become light acclimated?

Thanks in advance for any help!
Tom

what K are the MH's?

with those lights, i would start him off on a piece of LR on the bottom of the tank and leave out the egg crate. once he attaches you can move him up if required.

and make sure to give him a real good once over for hitch hikers.
