will this work????

I am turining my 29 gallon into a sump/refugium. My skimmer takes up about half of the tank because it is really long which doesn't leave much space for my fuge. I was wondering if I could set it up using a horse shoe path having two boxes on the far left of my tank side by side. The back section would be the inflow of water/skimmer. The section closest to the front of the tank (still far right) would be the return. The Right chamber would then become my refugium. The water would travel from the far left back container to the right into the refugium and then from there back left and front into the return pump making the water flow a horse shoe pattern. Is this a dumb idea or will there be any complications I haven't thought about yet?

As long as gravity is doing all of the work and you don't have any siphons that can break, I don't know why it wouldn't work.

Maybe you could draw up a diagram and post it for comments?
