okay, so i am going to do this:

with a 5 gallon laying around, exept the fuge will be smaller, bout 4 inches long.
anyways, i just love mantises and i was wondering what kind of mantis i could put in there.
i was thinking n.wenerae but im not sure if the tank is too small or not.

i kept an n.wenn in a divided 6.6 g - he did not appreciate the cramped quarters imo, ymmv.

he moves all over my 20g reef tank, here there and everywhere - much better size for him.

you could do it. 5 gal is the bare minimum so dont expect any particular natural behaviours but it's certainly still doable. keep up with water changes though since they are messy eaters. Also, a single N. wennerae must be considered as a full bioload for that size a tank.

so basicaly what im hearing is if i did it, the mantis would suffer just for my convienience.

lots of people put mantids ion 5gal tanks. imo it's fine, but yes, better to get a better tank. I wouldn't say it's torture. 10-15g would be a nice size imo.
