Will zoanthids grow over clams

Hi:

Sorry if this is really basic: I have a rock with some clams on it. It's a big rock and the clams are small. I'm considering putting some zoa frags on the same rock, but have read that they will soon cover the entire rock. Would they be a threat to the clams (eventually)? Or does the movement of the clams prevent them from growing on top of their shells / in their area?

Thanks.

what kind of clams? it can take time for some zoa's to grow and some can grow very fast. a clam shell its self is a very good surface for zoa's mat to grow on. if you watch the growth rate you should have plenty of time to weed or even move the clams.

Dont remember who it was but someone had a frag growing off of there snail. Dont know if he glued it there or what but it was pretty!

I've seen clams in an established tank with zoos on the shell and it didn't seem to effect the clam at all. If the mantle of the clam comes out over the lip it will keep zoos from growing there and they don't seem to irritate the clam at all.

I've seen it as well, they just seem to take off and spread like wildfire over anything it seems.
