Chen I so wanted to go but the weather here was nasty and it took longer to service the truck than I thought. I will make the April one.

No problem whatsoever. You're welcome to come over and visit your frag wherever you want.

Placement

Placement

I figured I would post a photo of them in their new home. No matter where I place it though they take on a orange/brown polyp color. I read this is due to higher lighting and the flourescents inside their polyp structures.

I housed them together

The digi came from my tank. I've had it in a nano with PC lighting, a nano with T5's, and now in my 180 with radiums. The color has been slightly different in each setup but the polyps are typically brownish with a purple body and purple tips. The polyps actually have a slightly greenish tint to them now under my radiums.

I got my original frag from Brandon about 2 years ago and it has been a very fast grower. Even though it is SPS, I think it actually grew faster in the nano where the water was slightly "dirtier". Its very forgiving and will thrive in many different conditions in my experience.

thanks again for the frag, on a side note, looked up your build thread, love your stand, building something similar.

Good to know there is an exception to the "high lighting" requirements of most SPS. Does this digi have a specific name so if somebody had a frag for sale or something, I'd know what its called?

No problem, I'm glad my tank is finally getting to the point where I can give back to the club as it has been very beneficial to me in getting to this point.

Thanks for the compliments. It was my first experience with doing that kind of work but I really enjoyed it and I'm pretty happy with the way it turned out. Let me know if you have any questions. I'm no expert but I'd be happy to help any way I can.

As far as I know its just know as purple montipora digitata. I'm sure there are different variations and I'm not sure of the exact lineage of this one. Brandon may know more about that as mine came from him.
