Wiring a fish room

I’m about to do some wiring to my fish room and I have a question. Can I get away with just a 20amp breaker to the whole room or should I put in a sub-panel in the fish room? The tank is a 210gal in-wall. It’s going to start as a fish only until my fun regulator (my wife) lets me have more money.

I don't know about the sub-panel persay, but I would suggest you add at least one additional circuit. And then, if it's cheap to add more, go ahead and add another.

20A is pretty stingy for a decent sized tank. It's usually easier/cheaper to add this stuff up front than afterwards, too!

For about the same price you could put two 20 amp circuits in the room. The material difference is probably $20.00 and the labor is basically the same
