Wiring breakout box

One goes to ground and the other goes to the switch port. The easiest way to do it would be to use the apex breakout box and connect one of the wires to the ground port and the other to the switch 1, 2 etc.

The harder way would be to get your self a mini din connector and solder it up to a bunch of wires or jacks. There is a pin out for the mini din connector at the back of the apex manual. Pins 1-6 are for switch 1-6 respectivly. Ground is pin 8. One wire from the switch will go to the ground and the other goes to the corresponding switch pin. The grounds from all switches get connected together.

Here is a breakout box that I just made.

I wired it to the apex breakout box. I will make a new DB9 to mini din cable to eliminate the apex breakout and repurpose it for my PM2 and gain 6 more switch ports. Eventually I will make another breakout box and eliminate the apex breakout entirely. Having the mico jacks for the switches is nice.

Also if you go to the advanced search option on the forum and search for breakout. Make sure you select the neptune forum in the forum list, you will find many other great threads on the subject. Thats how I got my ideas.
