Wiring My Metal Halide

I need some help, I've got my metal halide all wired up except for the green wires that I assume are the grounding wires. One has a 2 prong end and the other is a small circle. It's a 175 Watt ARO electronic ballast. If anybody knows how to wire the green wires, please post your info. Thanx everyone.:)

i am assuming they are ground. my MHs are retro so i dont have any place to ground them, i guess if your MHs are enclosed in some metal box or something then you would ground your box.

my 2 cents

cut stripe and tie together ALL green wires, your power supply cord to the ballast should have a ground in it also, tie it with the others. this stuff is electrical epuipment that going to be around water, i would suggest grounding anthing you can. and yes if the ballast is in a metal box you would need to also ground the box to the rest of the green wires.

So you're talking about the three pronged plug in cord right? Run the green wires to the grounding prong part?

yeah the cord that you plug into the wall should have a grounding wire, if not go get one. tie all green ground wires together and to and metal boxes along the way.

whoa slow down Primer, I'm not an electrician, you have to explain things step by step for me. When you say go get one, you mean go get a three pronged cord, right? And what do you mean by tie all wires together and to and metal boxes along the way? WHAT metal boxes?

Thanks for being patient!
And thank YOU Chris for being patient with me jumpin on your thread!

ok sorry wasnt trying to be or sound rude.

yes if the cord you have only have 2 wire replace it with a grounded cord (has 3 wires). by tie all wires together i mean, if your ballast has a green wire tie it together with the green wire on your power cord, and anyother green wire that you might see. the metal box thing i was refering to if the ballast is mounted in a metal box there sound be a green colored grounding screen that you need to put a green wire on and tie to the rest of your green wires

Okay, that was kinda what I figured, but wiring a tractor and wiring in a house are more different than most people'd think! Thanks for the spot check!
