i been recently to the fish stores in kissimmee area, to my suprise i see these stores charging more than 55 for a small one 1 inch blue tang. Right now i am looking for a small one and a couple of other fish, if anybody got any of these for sale, Because my 55 gallon has been empty for 3 months
here the list
-blue tang
-yellow tang
-six line wrasse
-black or ocollaris clown
-lawn benny
-gobies

It seems as of late, alot of stores are upping the price on them. A local store used to charge 25 bucks for a 1 inch tang and now it is up to 45+.

not always, there are a lot of people with fish tanks that don't visit RC and they pay full price. Some of the fish don't look that great either. I was at 3 fish stores in Orlando yesterday and 2 of them had fish with ich in almost every tank!!

Have you been to the new store in kissimmee off Whisper Lakes Blvd. I think its going to be a nice store. There tring to make it really nice in there. Plus its going to be saltwater only he isnt going to be selling anything else like the last fish store that was there.

If your heading north on 441 you make a left on Whisper Lakes Blvd and it in the little shopping plaza. I think the sign only says pets. If your heading south on 441 you would make a right on Wisper Lakes Blvd and its on the left. There is a Mcdonalds and a tiwsty treat right before Wisper Lakes Blvd if your heading south on 441.

I found that purchasing from liveaquaria.com was the best for me. I needed alot of nice fish, and only had to pay one shipping fee. The prices are reasonable when they have sales every week. This week they have some NICE sales on marine fish, including powder blue tangs, not 1" either. The best part is that you don't have to worry about if the fish will make it or not, because they guarantee the fish to survive for 14 days. I don't know any store that gives you more than 3 days tops. Plus i believe the diseases are more controlled with bigger and better knowledgable companies. I wanted several tangs, and knowing the only way to have them together was to introduce all at once, this is how I did it. I had powder blue, yellows, sailfin, clown tang all in the same tank with other fish too. Some quarreling for awhile, then all was fine. If I had done it individually, there would have been fights to the death I am sure. So IF you are looking to get more than 1-3 fish, I would say you will get a better deal online at liveaquaria than you will ever get at the stores in Kissimmee. I wouldn't buy saltwater fish from any of those stores, the fish are unhealthy and sickly looking, and I just feel sorry that they will all soon die from lack of knowledge of the owners for what they need. And the last person was right, lots of DISEASE. If you are looking for single fish, I would say the best bet is just looking here and see what's available. Maybe you'll see what you want, and maybe you won't, and you'll see something else you want even more. You just never know. I hope this helps those looking for larger quantities of marine fish.

there's also etropicals.com but the selection isn't as great. The prices are a little cheaper too, but once again, not very much selection for a large shipment to be done in one shipping fee.

Am I busted??? lol, hardly

Am I busted??? lol, hardly

How do you even know me? But since you are asking I will tell you. My boyfriend wanted to get his haircut, and my daughter wanted to look at the fish. But I was NOT buying any saltwater fish. I WAS seeing how this one in particular, who I thought was a little better than the others in the area, had increased the prices on everything as well (according to a post a few days ago, that I replied to). If you saw me, then you probably saw me (defeatedly) buying my daughter a freahwater betta for $5, not anything else. But more or less asking about the prices and why alot of the tanks were filthy/cloudy. You must work there, huh? ;) I still buy from liveaquaria.com if that was what you were getting to. Sorry I couldn't give you more amunition than walking into a fish store to look around.
:D

i wasn't saying anything bad, but i thought you remembered me? But i didnt recongize u until my boss said isn't that robin, i said i knew some lady robin, i bought ur tomato, the amenoe and the rock from u in october, i just changed my username of some problems,

I remember you, you came to my house and bought the tomato clown I sold with the anemone. Are they still alive? I see you have changed your name from "Gilberto15" to this "Underground" name. That is why I didn't know who you were. And wondering who is stalking me? I am suprised you are saying things about the store you work at! Now I see why the tanks were so cloudy....problems with ICK huh? lol, not the story I got in the store. Well then since you work there, you KNOW I haven't been in that store for over a year and a half and that I wasn't buying anything, don't you? ;) I thought you got discounts where you worked, so it makes no sense to me? why aren't you buying the fish discounted? Questions, questions..........

I only posted what I posted to help YOU, and anyone else who wanted an alternative to the high prices at most LFS's, especially if they were looking to get alot of fish, and have a long guarantee on them, to make sure they survive, and their money wasn't wasted. Plus, the selection is awesome online compared to LFS. Anyways, I was stating my opinion on the area stores, not banning any of them, they can always change and get better as any store can. But I prefer the safer method of liveaquaria.com, or a fish from another reefers established tank that has a disease free system fish that I see personally for myself. As I said, these are my opinions, and I only offered the opinions because they were asked for.

sorry but.....

sorry but.....

I just re-read my post, and it sounded kinda harsh....sorry.
I had a pretty bad evening, so I think I just went a little overboard on the whole "explaining" myself thing. I just got accussed of something else not related to this, and thought you were doing the same. So again, sorry.
Watch out....lol....I'm on the rampage.......lol.

i just checked on liveaquaria, and saw the blue tangs were 19.99:eek: killa price, but the rest of the stuff ripoff :mad2: but i dont have a credit card:( , i guess i just keep on looking locally:) i am not trying to make fun of my store, but i know we are not perfect but we do have nice stuff, but i love this store i sometimes get a whole bunch of items for $5 like mandarins, arrowcrab, likia stars, corals etc... But i know we have some high and low prices, the items we recive sometimes from the warehouse come in poor conditons especially the tangs, and sometimes they dont make it, and if we do get a healthy specimen i rather let another reefer who has been waiting longer than i have, get it.

If that larger tank wasn't so cloudy and I was unsure of how the fish looked, I would have bought that one triggerfish for $40. That price was just a little above normal price for that particular size, so I could've lived with that. I could have isolated him since he is just one fish in a small 10G untill I was sure he was OK, but then you don't have a warranty/guarantee either, so I was heisitant. But I thought I would be honest here. Sometimes you find a fish you like, and you'll take it if it looks like it might be OK, even if you don't hear good things about a place. Or like the way things look. You take a chance for that not so often "good" price.
