I have the most skittish yellow wrasse in the world. I cannot catch this thing at all. Ive tried the pop bottle trick and even bought a $60 trap online, but he just won't go in the dang things. Any advice? I really cant tear down my rock work.

If you want it out then you'll probably have to tear your rock work down. Wrasses aren't as easy to catch. I got lucky once with a net. That's luck though

Put that $60 trap in the tank and leave it for a few days. Then, when feeding the tank, only add food to the tank via the box. Wait until the wrasse is feeding from the box for a few days, then start thinking about trying to close the door when he's inside.

You've gotta make it a slow, gradual process.

I've only caught wrasses with traps. My melanarus would nip at nori - so I put the nori clip in the trap. Don't feed the tank until you can't him. He'll go in there.

The tricks to a trap is put it in the tank, feed only in the trap, and leave it alone!

Last time I used it I was after a Foxface and Yellow tang. I fed 5-6 times a day, and caught them both on day 7.

The key is PATIENCE :)

I once used a trap to catch a yellow tang in literally 5 seconds. I set the trap, and he immediately swam in. It was hilarious. He must have really wanted out of there.
