really nice even bubbles creating nice foam. skimming really dry.

You will love this skimmer..I know I love mine :)

Btw I just got the optional silencer..how exactly is yours mounted? The holes on the cup lid aren't big enough for the screw..

try it again.....I don't even think any of the holes are tapped. The screws pretty soft so it should just kind of self tap..If not just run the right size tap through.

IME, the silencer kind of hurt the performance of the skimmer.

Good skimmers. As time goes on I'm more and more impressed.

but the noise without the silencer gets a bit out of hand at times... it's bearable.. but the silencer does exactly what it's supposed to :).. just need to find the best way to mount it.. the screw is way bigger than the holes...

ok, here's what you do....add some large fans, huge external pumps, kids, loud TV and a wife....you'll get better performace from your skimmer:D

Kill me, please....

bwahahaha.. i tried taking the silencer out and its not that loud. but i leave it on just in case. look at the holes on the lid one hole should be tapped.

Do you have a problem with microbubbles? I have an AS-200 and get TONS of microbubbles from it. Just curious...

sounds like your sump is moving too fast or not enough baffles...or both.

I also upgraded 1 of my tanks here at the store from a G3 to a S200 and can tell a major difference. Jon built a quality skimmer line keeping all other companies on their toes.

Regardless of the flow or sump design I don't think the skimmer should dump that many bubbles out. I was just curious if your skimmer had the same problem or it's just mine.
Jason, you have an AS-200 what's yours like?

i took off the silencer and this this skimming like crazy, now i close my stand doors. i dont have a problem with micro bubbles.

i have this skimmer on a 90 gallon tank with a 30 gallon sump. its skimming pretty good.

Yeah these skimmers are great. i wish i could fit the AS300 into my sump.
Hang onto that thought! :D

Does the bubble plate really make that much of the difference I added a Sedra 9000 pump to my AS300 and it works great. That is the only difference I see in the WM AS-200 and the ASM G-3. Because on my new tank I want the best skimmer I can get for a good price can not afford a Bubble King.
