Is there anyone that attened Eric Borneman's speach that knows when the results from his salt study were going be out, can I get you to chime in...I remeber him being exited about one salt out of the study, and he said when it would come out, but I don't remeber when it was going to be.

He was suppose to give the results briefly (sneek peek w/ answers)at the chicago meet which has passed, although the complete analysis wont be ready for little awhile. But someone out there knows what "B" is...Id love to hear myself :)

I asked some folks that were there. They said that it wasn't mentioned at all. Someone else said they thought it would be revealed at MACNA.

I was at his talk at WMC and he said he would share at MACNA which salt it was, but that he wouldn't have all the data compiled. The data would be out later.

Ok, so another 4 months untill it's known. I guess I'll wait to see what the results were befor deciding if I want to switch salt.

At WMC he said he'll be finishing up the night before MACNA, not IMAC. I doubt he'll pre-release any info on it as he plans on having it published.

I really won't be surprised if it turns out to be IO. We have been getting unreal Ca and Alk readings on fresh made SW using IO. David can probably confirm, but i think the CA was at like 450, and the Alk was at like 11...

Eric, thoese were tested befor we checked the accuracy of the swingarm hydrometers. After adjusting the makeup water with your refracometer last weeked I tested it with Alk=11 and Calc=370..didn't recheck Mg. So you might want to start adding Ca or you will never be above 400. Sry I forgot to tell you about that.

Here is the list of the salt brands being tested:
Kent
Sea Chem
Tropic Marin
Instant Ocean
Instant Ocean Reef Crystals
Oceanic
Crystal Seas
HW Marinemix
Bio Marine
Red Sea

Coulda swore he said he didnt test Sea Chem:confused: I know the question arose because the vendor was there and alot of people recieved bags so were curious...

It will be interesting to se the results. I'm assuming it's a blind test so he won't know until all the data is analyzed which salt is the B sample. I missed out on all the vendor freebies except what was in our bags.:(

Well, if its not "b" it wont really matter whos on the list(I may have heard wrong), and talk about a surge this manufacturer whoever it is is gonna feel like they just hit the lottery once its revealed:cool:
