Woe is me, it only happens when you’re not home.

I have joined in on the summer fun. Who was the idiot that left the chiller unplugged? Oh, that would be me. I unplugged it and put ice bottles in the sump when it came on after the lights were out and it was disrupting our movie viewing. I’ve done this before with no problems. However, this time it was late when the movie ended and I forgot to plug it back in. This would not have been a problem if I would have been home yesterday. I would have noticed that the chiller wasn’t coming on as it usually does multiple times a day. At 10:30PM with the lights out the temp was 89. I can only imagine how high it was in the middle of the day with all the lights blazing. I feel so bad for causing so much suffering.

Tonga Aquaculture colony from Mermaid at the WMC
Tonga Aquaculture colony from duec22 (one branch may make it)
Tubs' green horrida from tfp
Tyree solitaryensis fromUnarce
Purple cap from Reefugee
Pocillopora fromSEABay swap
Purple Subuluta from Your Reef
Candelabra Gorgonian from GARF
3 from MARS Raffles-don’t know what they were

Others are showing stress. Hopefully they will pull through.
On the bright side, the LPS seem to be unaffected. The Digis look betterâ€"œgo figure. Must be because I have plenty of those in my frag tank. Milis are all fine too except for one bleached branch. Fish are all fine too.

Moral of the story: Don’t unplug the chiller, turn up the movie.

Sorry to hear that, Rachelle:( I don't have anymore soli frags, but I can help out with another frag:D

Man, this has been a rough summer for a lot of us. Sorry to hear you got hit too.

I can honestly say I feel your pain!:( No blunders are worse than the ones that could've been avoided, I know that pain too:rolleyes:

About the digi's and ALL my LPS, DANG!, is the reef god's trying to make us go LPS or what? ;)

It breaks my heart hearing these stories..All the time and effort gone so fast. I'm so sorry for your losses, and may it take a turn for the better soon and bring joy to you once again. I think I can take a frag out of my TFP Paletta baby blue acro for you when things get setteled again (I know it's not much but it's my only acro big enough to frag).

Thanks all. I'm still kicking myself. Looks like the rest of them (including my Blue stag from tfp and my cali tort fromUnarce) will be OK. I still can't believe how great the digis look. It's like they're gloating. Maybe they like really hot water.

The digi's could have that glowing look from the stress. Like maybe they have spit out certain zoo algae (sry I don't remeber the name or the spelling) leaving the brighter colors.

OHHHH the PAIN!!! Thank goodness summer is almost over....I feel you pain and was given a reprieve a couple of weeks ago when I turned off my pump circuit which my chiller is hooked up to.

i am lucky that my mom HATES to be hot and runs the AC all the time, even when we are not home, so i have yet to have such a problem. luckily the only thing i have ever lost due to heat was a 5 gallon, becuase i was stupid, the thing likey did not need a heater, i bet the powerhead and in-the-tank filter produced enough heat on their own so the little heater was over kill.

still even w/that tiny tank i felt alot of pain, so loosing a big one,...man i would skip school i'd be balling so bad.

i think Justin got it hardest, was'nt one of the fish that died a new one that was really special?

still, ouch....

The distruction continues...looks like the centerpiece to my tank is fading fast. My large purple gorgonian is brown and loosing tissue. I really loved watching it swaying in the current like a large feather. Sniff. Time for another water change.

Updates? Did the gorgonian make it? Sorry for the loss. I've been through it before, and know the pain of losing so mich.

Spent the whole day yesterday rearranging the rockwork and weeding out more dead frags. I cut the gorgonian back, but it still doesn't look like it will make it. I took out some rock so it doesn't look as sparsly populated.
